This piece depicts the home of a rural merchant who spends his days selling his goods in the town square. It’s just about time for him to come home. The house feels lived in, but quiet, like it’s waiting for his return. I wanted to capture the simplicity and solitude of his life, and the quiet peace that comes with it.
